Question diy dual fan in laptop

i have an asus k55n. I want to put another internal fan in place of the dvd drive. my problem is how to power the fan. is there any way i can draw 5 volts via the dvd sata port?

Yes https://www.lifewire.com/sata-15-pin-power-connector-pinout-2624584 pin-out is same on laptop and desktop computers.

That one gives you 12v only.

This can do it but you don't need whole Molex adapter, use just a Black and red wires for 5v.

i can use a sata to mloex adapter and get 5 volts between the red and black wire and power another laptop fan. the data to molex adapter will work on a laptop? right

Right, Red and Black give 5v and yellow and black give 12v., yellow and red give 7,5v.
