Hello. I am going to build a new pc. I have 2 hdds and I want windows 8.1 on both of them. The second one is older and has some folders in it but they aremt that important. Do I need to connect those 2 together or is it fine if I connect them on motherboard only?

Hi

Your question does not make sense unless you have very old hdd with ATA (PATA) interface where you can have 2 hdd on one ribbon cable
Or use 2 ribbon cables one per drive

If this system still uses old PATA hdd then it is probably too old for win 8.1

Also are you planning to install windows twice and choose which hdd to start windows ?

Please re state you question if I have made a wrong guess

Why do you want Win 8.1 on both of them? That makes no real sense.

Multiple drives in one PC is very, very common. My main PC has 6.
OS lives on one of them. They all live together quite happily. All drives connected to the SATA motherboard ports.
