excuse me if it sounds silly but I'm new to building computers and all and is it normal for computers to sometimes not perform 100% ? It would be a shame if I'd use a computer for gaming but know that It could be working better

Your question is so vague and random, it would be hard to answer it. Electronics components have a failure curve that says some will fail at any time, but the majority won't. Cosmic radiation might strike your machine and cause a temporary failure. stuff happens. Not often and there's no reason to think you will be subject to any of it.

For new builders, care in following instructions and making sure you understand what you are doing is much more important. Don't use force, make sure yuo know what goes where and don't power on the CPU before the cooling is installed. :)

Edit: oh, and the chips in the CPU may have slight variations in quality even if they work perfectly. That usually only comes out when overclocking. Its referred to as "binning" look it up on wikipedia.

Computers are living organisms. Their behavior, attitude, personality and overall health depend on their diet, exercises, and maintenance. They have good days and bad days. And- no- it is not random. If it acting out- it may be sick or you got it angry.

Au contraire. Computers are emotionless pieces of silicone that depends on their environment (cooling and power) to determine their behavior. It is entirely possible to predict a computer's reactions to most scenarios. That is why Allen Turing proposed the Turing Test.
