Do i need a new motherboard?

i have a samsung np350v5c-a03 laptop with a black screen, i've done all the tests on it including plugging in a video cable from another laptop to the screen and the screen seemed to work fine, i then tried the video cable from the black screen laptop in the working laptop and nothing displayed, so this gave me the impression that it was a problem with the video cable. The laptop when plugged in to HDMI also displays on the external monitor. So is this a problem with the connector on the motherboard where the video ribbon cable plugs in to? if so what is this connector called? and are they easy to get so i can solder a new one on? thanks

it could be a lot of things .. you should get that checked by a tech service rep
