Do I need a specific type of case to support watercooling?

Do I need a large full tower with 3 fans on top or can I get by with a mid tower? Buying a case now for my current system that will be replaced within a year. Whatever I get needs to have the ability to support a water cooled cpu.

I won't be doing multiple gpu set up and probably won't overclock, if so just minimal. I see these elaborate systems online with tubes everywhere, but then I also see very small systems. Can a mid tower kind of go either way? I prefer mid tower, but wouldn't mind buying a full if I really need it for this option.

You don't need a specific case, just make sure that the case states that it supports water cooling and take note of the rated radiator sizes. A LOT of cases support it these days, so there should be plenty of choices. They have plenty of mid-towers and even M-ATX towers that support water cooling. I've even seen ITX cases that support it, though you have to use fat 120mm radiators.
