Do i need mic an sound card for acer 5732z

i am useless... but i don't get it... i bought a separate mic but do i need a sound card as well for my acer aspire 5732z

Your Acer Aspire 5732Z has a built in sound card (or chip).
It's what drives the built in speakers.
It also includes a built in mic jack.

Look at your Windows audio options to set it up.

You probably have Windows 7.
In the Start menu, type in Sound in the search bar.
In the Control Panel section, choose the Sound icon.
From there, choose the Recording Tab and select the right mic device.

It says that it isn't plugged in. I cannot get mine to work at all.
