Hey guys! I was just on PC Gamer and saw the new AMD CPU's. http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/LandingPages/amd/amd_Llano/
So my question is this; Will this CPU help me at all? I really don't understand the point of this new CPU lineup.
My specs are at the bottom but here they are again in larger font.

CPU - Athlon II X4 3.0 (3.4 O.C.)
Mobo - ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO
Ram - G.SKILL 8GB (4 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 :hello:
PSU - Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W
GPU - ASUS EAH6850 DCDirect Cooling

Solution
AMD A8-3850 benches better than an i7 930 but less than a 950, gfx wise it smokes the sandys hd3000 by a fair margin which to be honest is quite a handy gpu for an onchip solution...
roughly you will see a 25% improvement in cpu performance over your current 1 which is a good enough step to warrant an upgrade... but overclocking will be held back some due to the chip being an apu mixed solution...
if your happy with 3.0ghz then yeah its a worth while upgrade. if you want something that is supremely overclockable then you want to jump platform to intel.
If you want to upgrade, save $600 because the New AMD APUs(Graphic) will probably own the SB but IB will own the APU and IB will get owned by BullDozer and the SB-E will own all...
Also, I recommend doing a custom build instead of custom build from other people/sites... If you see AMD cpu with the "A[number]", it means that the CPU is APU... I Recommend you sticking with that CPU until you start noticing slows or low FPS in games you usually play... APU are for HD movies and Blu-Ray movies stuff or more like Entertainment CPU...

Now that's an answer! Now, WTF does it mean?! HAHAHAHA! I don't need it? Is that what your saying? I just don't know what SB and IB and Bulldozer and SB-E are. Boy do I feel dumb. I did find the Bulldozer here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulldozer_%28processor%29) Sounds amazing.

SB=SandyBridge SB-E=SandyBridge-E(Coming up) IB=IvyBridge(Coming up and will replace the current LGA 1155 processor like 2600k BUT still same socket) What i mean by all those is that APU graphic is better than Intel HD 3000 which is on the 2500k&2600k, When SandyBridge-E comes out or you can say i7-3960X, will be the top most high-end processor and is a cost of 1 grand...

Your 6850 is and will be better than llano/Ivy Bridge/Sandy bridge graphics. In a totally different class. The only upgrade you potentially have is to a phenomx4 CPU, but that would be a small jump. I'd run what you have until you are ready to replace the whole thing.

The point of llano is that it is a good CPU and GPU together, which allows them to do some cool things, but it is still not as good as a decent graphics card like the 6850.

actually, his board does support all variations of the Thuban X6 chips.

Actually, for what are you using your PC?
Browsing? Movies? Gaming?

Having Asus 6850 DC I could guess is for gaming...
Than you'r somewhat OK with that CPU. Though if your money are itching, I'll just put some higher end CPU (for example tuban x6 as mentioned) in and call it a day for some time (until after all this new CPU that are coming are sorted out...)

I use my pc for gaming and netflix. I really can't thank you all enough for clearing this up for me. Looks like this pc is going to stay like this until I start a new build. I'm building the same one for my girlfriend so she can play The Sims 3 (on her own pc! I get my pc back!! :) ) Anyway, thanks again guys. Cheers.
