Okay, so I recently finished building my first ever pc after some complications . Now all I have left to do is download my Windows 11 and my Msi utilies. But both of them are on a disc and I don't have any previous laptops or other devices to use a flash drive on(unless I can use my Lenovo tablet). So i wanted to know if I needed to buy a dvd drive or not before I spent my money on it.

You can obtain Windows 11 on a USB, direct from MS.
Or, from any other working Windows system, create your own USB. A friends, system, for instance.

As mentioned above, if you have a USB of the proper size, you can DL the most current release from MS direct. Your key from the DVD will be valid so long as you install the same version.

With the above said, I keep an external DVD/CD drive available in my junk drawer. Every now and again (and becoming rarer by the day) I need to use one and it's nice to have on hand. I would not purpose build one into a case any longer.

You mentioned the key from the DVD; but I'm not too sure where in the process I would be using it. Would I use it on my friends Pc or on mine once I get the USB with Windows on it.

From your friends system, all you're doing is creating the install USB.

No license key involved, at all.

Later, on your system....
