Question Do i need to change voltage?

Hey all,

I just overclocked my i7 3820 to 4.3ghz last night. And today i realized my ddr 3 kingston hyper x beast 2400mhz ram was actually running at 1333mhz! My mobo is a gigabyte x79 up4 that supports 2133mhz ram. So i did a little research and realized I needed to enable Xmp to get full speed. I enabled it and am now running at 2133mhz in quad channel. But under voltage it say's im running at 1.500 volts on auto. Do i need to up the voltage to 1.650v or is the fact i am running at 2133mhz rather then 2400 mhz mean that the 1.500v is adequate?

If the ram is stable, no need to increase the voltage.

You can run a program like aida 64 to stress ram.

Ha! To be honest that might be the best advice i have got on the forums. Honestly I probably pretty much know just enough to be dangerous lol. The goal is to extend the relevancy of the sytem another year not screw it up or damage it.......

Usually, extra voltage won't kill something at first but it may hurt it over time, especially if thermals are high.

Generally, if you don't have to change voltage its best not too.
