Question Do I need virtual memory ?

So i turned off the page file because its takes up space in my C: drive, so how to check if the page file is really off?

By the way, my system runs fine with no page file.

how did you disable it?

commit charge is the virtual memory size, which is now that you disabled the pagefile, will be completely in the physical RAM, if the apps you are using are gonna need it.

You have 32GB RAM, no pagefile, 7.5GB used, 6.3GB cached, that's what task manager should report.

No. You can't disable pagefile. It is necessary.
Expect memory subsystem errors.

You can set pagefile to be located on a different drive, if you're running out of space on C: .
Set it to custom size, 1GB initial , 16GB max.
With 32GB of physical ram, pagefile should mostly remain at initial size.

Windows may crash if it needs one.

Allocate at the very least to the size of your ram. On a ssd if you can, on a hdd if you must.
Better, allocate significantly more. It will not be used unless needed.
If your ssd devices are so short of space, find a way to get more.
SSD devices approaching 95% full will lose performance and endurance.

How large is your C drive?

With 32GB RAM, the pagefile size can be set quite small.

But it IS needed.

Type ......system.... in the search box.
Click on system info.
Scan down to .....page file space.
If it shows zero I suspect the page file is off.

Is it needed?.......yes/no/maybe.
May depend on the hardware you have and the stuff you run.
I don't use a page file runs fine.
