Do i use tape or compound?

So i got this big stonking TAisol heatsink/fan for my new athlon, and got some small contact area Arctic silver thermal compound, but the heatisnk comes with a strip of tape on it.
DO i stick it to the chip with the supplied tape, or scrape it off and use compound?
Im not overclocking, but i DO want a stable setup.

go for the compound, but becareful when scraping the tape off. if you can, peel it off and use some alcohol or something to get the adhesive off. don't want scratches in that baby

Use nail polish remover to get the tape off.
