Do we really need CD Drives?

Hello, i am getting a new pc Rig, the case Is the Fractal Design define S, and This case doesnt have a CD drive compatibility. This case Is perfect for My needs, but do we really need CD Drives in these days? What i was thinking to do Is buy an external CD drive and Thats it.

I haven't built a PC with one in years. Have my windows ISO copied to USB and that's all I really needed a drive for.
