[SOLVED] Do you think I should worry about watt consumption for this upgrade?

I have a AMD fx4300 quad that consume max 95 watt in my cyberpower pc with stock deep cool heatsink that comes with it. I want to upgrade to a amd fx 8320 8 core that consumes 125 watts at max. The fx 8320 is used so doesnt come with a heatsink.

I don’t think that will be a problem since both are am3+

Many of the low end motherboards had issues with overheating VRM’s when running 125w CPU’s.

In addition to the VRM aspect of the motherboard, what specific PSU is in this?
CyberPower is well known for going cheap on the included PSU.

While it may work with the original components, once you start changing things...bad things can happen.

No idea what motherboard that is but looks to be a basic 4 phase design with no heatsink on the VRM’s. I would not be surprised if it did have issues with a 125w cpu.

Thats the motherboard chipset, a low end one. It’s not the motherboard model.
