I have an IBM Thinkpad running XP Professional. Whenever I accidentally hit
the touchpad on my laptop when typing in ANY document - Word, Excel, Lotus
Notes, IE, etc., all documents in ALL applications automatically scroll to
the bottom of the document whenever the mouse cursor is clicked on the
document. Closing and re-opening individual applications does not help. The
only way I can get this to stop is by rebooting. Is there an simpler
solution?

Has this been happening recently? You can try a Restore or click your
mouse properties to change the sensitivity settings under the Control Panel.

Check the "button settings" in Control Panel, Mouse.
