Hi

I am trying to ditch as much equipment from my fiber provider (Metronet) and want to use my new Asus GT-AX11000 hardware router to control / allow for IPTV. I currently have the following:
{INET}---Nokia G4240 ONT w/ 2 active LAN ports (1 and 2). The 1st port is reserved for IPTV [which is capped @ 40MB or so] and I have that hooked up via CAT 8 to a GB switch with one port wired to a Technicolor VEN501 wireless transceiver which broadcasts the IPTV signal to two Technicolor STBs...a second port on the switch routes to a third STB acting as a DVR (I prefer hard-wiring everything...old school I guess).

The 2nd port on the Nokia ONT is full bandwidth (1Gb) to my Asus GT-AX11000 then to a switch w/ LAN equipment.

The Asus router has the following within the IPTV settings within the LAN options page:

  1. Select Provider: - Seems everyone but Metronet is shown.
  2. Choose IPTV STB Port w/ the options:
    1. LAN 1
    2. LAN 2
    3. LAN 3
    4. LAN 4
    5. LAN 1 & 2
    6. LAN 3 & 4
  3. Use DHCP Routes w/ options:
    1. RFC3442 & Microsoft
    2. Disable
    3. Microsoft
    4. RFC3442
  4. Multicast Routing w/ options: Enable/Disable
  5. UDP Proxy [Port]:______
If I choose MANUAL setup it gives me options for# 3 above and the following:

Internet VID_____ PRIO_____
LAN Port 4 VID_____ PRIO_____
LAN Port 3 VID_____ PRIO_____

I know the Technicolor VEN501 & IPTV side of things is on a 10.x.x.x subnet while my LAN side via the Asus is on a 192.168.0.x subnet.

Any suggestions? Yes I tried to find111 out from Metronet themselves, however, need to keep trying to get some tech who knows that info...no luck yet.

I can upload pix of the router IPTV options as well as the TV's STB/IPTV networking/hardware/etc. info pages if needed.

Tnx much.

Regarding: "Select Provider: - Seems everyone but Metronet is shown."

Who is "everyone"?

Is the Asus GT-AX11000 on Metronet's list of supported equipment?

Not sure about the overall topology but I believe that bridging is needed.

And I suggest that you update your post with a simple diagram showing the current network topology.

Lable all devices, ports, cables, and IP addresses being used.

You can post an image of the diagram here via imgur (www.imgur.com).
