Hi folks, build a system couple weeks ago. Ryzen 9800X3D on an Asus Strix x870E-E motherboard. Coming from 3900X its a HUGE improvement in fps even when playing at 4K with 7900XTX.
I saw some videos (gamersnexus & hardwareunboxed) to be exact about how asus love's to OC cpu's out of the box (looking at you 14900k). I don't like running my cpu out of spec, i mostly bought the board for its great USB 3 Gen 2 support and MSI MPG x870e carbon was sold out which was my first priority. I have't used an Asus motherboard in over a decade so wondering if there is some setting in my UEFI which i must disable?
I did go through some of the settings in bios but nothing specific caught my eye that could be a red flag. I just enabled AMD expo and disabled on board GPU and that's how i am running my PC so far.

It depends on the board, but the majority of them have PBO/PBO2 (Precision boost overdrive, which is basically the factory overclock setting) disabled by default. You can check the advanced CPU tweaker settings and look for the PBO/2 setting. If it's on auto or enabled, then disable it if you have thermal problems with it enabled or simply do not wish to have it enabled. If it is already disabled, there is nothing else you need to do and no overclocking is going to occur unless you do so using the BIOS configuration settings or Ryzen master.
