Does Asus PG279Q lose quality when overclocked to 165 Hz considering 1440p and 165 Hz exceed DP 1.2 bandwidth?

The default refresh rate for this (my) monitor is 144Hz which makes sense.
1440 x 2560 x 144 x 32 = 16,986,931,200 bits per second
DP 1.2 bandwidth = 17.28 Gbit/s

But for 165 Hz we get 19,464,192,000 bits per second :heink:
Am I getting less than 32 bits per pixel when overclocking?

No, you are overclocking everything in that case I imagine, including the throughput. Remember, the G-Sync module is also the scalar and connected directly to the GPU, so the only thing to worry about would be the cable's bandwidth, the included one should be enough.

The 165 Hz mode does increase input lag and ghosting if I recall from the reviews. It is best run at 144hz.

can you verify that? I did some searching couldn't find a definitive answer.
I set it straight to 165 the day I bought it and been running for 8 months now. My 980 Ti doesn't breach 144 Hz anyway with the settings I choose. And if it does increase ghosting then there's no point.
Been thinking about leaving it at 144. That way 24fps movies will get 6 refresh cycles per frame as well and I'm thinking it'll actually be smoother.
