I am going to build a pc with a ryzen apu, but i'm not sure if the new ryzen 3rd gen is supported on b450 motherboards out of the box.

Solution
ASRock's B450 motherboards are (supposedly) now shipping with a compatible BIOS and a "Ryzen 3000 Ready" sticker on the box. But you'll probably need to buy from a brick-and-mortar store, so you can inspect the motherboard before you buy it. That's essentially impossible with an on-line vendor.
If you can find an MSI B450 MAX motherboard it will support the 3000 series CPUs out of the Box.

Most other motherboards will require a BIOS update unless the seller updates the BIOS for you.
