Question Does clearing cmos delete all saved profiles in the bios ?

Solution
Hi, does clearing cmos deletes all saved profiles in bios?
umm...it may depend on motherboard but none I've ever worked with has deleted any saved profiles when clearing CMOS. All it does is restore current settings to optimum (safe/stable) defaults, even those you don't have access to change through the screens. After clearing CMOS on any board I've ever worked with that could save profiles to local memory I've been able go back in and restore any saved profile.

If there ARE any boards that clear saved profiles at CMOS reset I'd hope it at least allows saving profiles to a USB drive. If you're worried about your board then do that to be sure.

Updating BIOS to a new version, however, will usually delete saved profiles or not...

Updating BIOS to a new version, however, will usually delete saved profiles or not allow using a profile from another version even if saved to a USB drive.
