Does FreeSync work with an HDMI cable in a SE2717H Dell monitor?

Does FreeSync work with an HDMI cable in a SE2717H monitor from Dell? Although my monitor runs at 75hz and i've enabled freesync through amd catalyst none of my games' refresh rate caps at 75hz and i keep getting screen tearing when i'm above 75hz. Thanks in advance.

The Monitor needs to be listed as "Freesync" as a feature (which checking Dells site it seems to have). You also need to turn it on in the monitor's settings, as well as in AMD.

and yes you would have to use the HDMI with it and enable it on the monitor and vid card

I've enabled amd freesync in both monitor and amd's software like i said before.

FreeSync only operates when your framerate is below your monitor's maximum refresh rate. FreeSync will not be used when your framerate is higher. The behavior at that point will depend on your V-Sync setting. If V-Sync is on, then it eill use V-Sync to cap the FPS when it is higher than the refresh rate. If you have V-Sync off, then it will not use V-Sync, and your framerate will be uncapped and tearing may occur.

Yep i know that but when v-sync is on it caps at 60 hz even though my monitor's refresh rate is set at 75hz.
