Does G-Sync make FPS drops below 144/240hz smoother?

I've looked up this question but most of the answers were either unclear or were comparing gsync fps drops to vsync stutter. None of that. I won't ever be using vsync so that's a non factor, I'm asking about standard raw frame output with no fps limiters (higher fps = faster response because each refresh always pulls the newest available frame, and tearing isn't nearly as noticeable above 144/240hz). My plan is to get a high refresh display with a lower end GPU that will rarely hit max refresh in more demanding games, then upgrade it down the line, so I want to know if gsync will make those fps fluctuations not be so jarring like dropping to 30fps on a 60hz monitor, And/or be more consistent so it doesn't throw you off as much when you get random drops during an intense firefight.

Solution
Smoother yes. But your gaming experience will not be pleasant. Why?
1. Our eye can not see more than 60fps bla bla but our eye is very sensitive to change in motion/smoothness. So when your fps will hover around 144 to 40 fps eventually you will get irritated because you can easily tell the difference in smoothness. Just forget about 240 hz for now it will be waste of money.
2. If you are playing a old game in 144 which your lower end gpu can easily do you will taste the first blood. When you will switch to a new demanding title and getting something from 40-144, the first word that will appear in your mind is WTF!!! You can not simply bear it any more and you will plan to upgrade your GPU.
Bottom line: If you have money to get Titan XP...

Bottom line: If you have money to get Titan XP or 1080ti in sli (again sucks, it is only for bench marking) go for 144+ hz. If you have a mid range GPU don't and you are not reach fellow don't event bother to upgrade to such high refresh rate monitor becs you don't have money to feed it.

Our eyes don't see in frames and can differentiate way more than 60fps and I can't believe this misinformation still persists. I haven't seen the statement in a long time too. 60hz power mains, 60hz crt monitors back in the day, 60fps, why 60, etc. I don't want to go off topic more and there's plenty of legit sources.

I don't think gsync will help. Gsync helps with frame times but the fps drop isn't a frame time consistency issue. You are just noticing the drop in fps and nothing will help except if the fps didn't drop.

I think there is some kind of misunderstanding. I have said the problem is the consistency in frame time or the rate at which frames are being delivered in front of our eye. If that varies much we can detect it. When the fps varies from 144 to 40 our eye can easily detect it and it feels very annoying. 144 or anything above is great to have, as long as it is consistent. By the way I have not said stick to 60 fps. Get as much fps you can feed from your pocket.
Just to add, if you are asking about the difference between 120 (as per I remember) and above our eyes can not differentiate it. there are videos where people simply can not recognize it. Players can guess it only when they make a sharp movement in FPS games like CS Go when there is a slight variation in frame time.
