Does my pc support 144hz monitor?

Hey, I have a MSI Geforce GTX 1060 Gaming X 3GB Gpu and Intel Core i3-4170 Cpu and I was wandering if these would support a 144hz monitor? And do I need a DisplayPort for the monitor to run 144hz?

Yes, it supports it. You need either displayport or dual link DVI for 144hz. Displayport is easier though and a smaller connection
