Question Does the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D require 1x 8-pin?

You should be fine. The only reason you'll need more than an 8pin EPS connector to supplement the processor is if you're pursuing a high overclock. That being said, a Google search is telling me that the board you bought has a 12+2 VRM design but I don't see that mentioned on the support site for said motherboard. I would've looked into a higher quality board when pairing with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

Make sure you've flashed the BIOS to the latest version before you drop the processor onto the socket.

A single 8-pin CPU connector can deliver up to 300 W. The Ryzen 9800X3D TDP is 120W and according to tests by Tom's Hardware, it never draws more than 160 W even with full load and PBO enabled. So one connector is definitely more than enough.

But I agree with Lutfij. You got the best gaming CPU on the market so you should pair it with a decent board.
