The SSID is broadcast from the wireless access point and your Dell wireless adapter should detect and list all available networks (that broadcast an SSID) in the wireless icon in the system tray -- lower right corner the small set of connection bars. Left click on that icon to see all available wireless networks, and connect/disconnect as needed by clicking the appropriate button by any available network.
To permanently delete a wireless network, or make other changes to them, open the network control panel and select "manage wireless networks." There you will see all wireless networks that your computer has stored with the SSID of each. You can delete those that are no longer needed.
