Dos? RST Scan? What?

Hey!

I've been trying to fix this issue at my girlfriends house. They have a 8-10 year old router (no money to replace it) and they've been experiencing that every day at least 1-2 times it cuts out and restarts. I went into the log and found that it states ' [DoS Attack: RST Scan] from source: 192.152.0.124, port 22, Friday, October 13,2017 '

I google the IP and sometimes it's from US sometimes from Canada & sometimes from europe.

Anything I can do? Any help?

Dos means denial of service attack so whatever that device has that IP may be having issues or someone is attaching their network. the older the router the more vulnerable you are to outside attacks

if the router is owned by their internet provider they can contact them

are they just connecting to it wirelessly or a wired connection?

thats going to be difficult then. IMO the next steps would be to eliminate the router and have a a computer connected directly to the modem to see if they still experience the same issues. if they do then its a problem with the modem which their ISP is responsible for, if not then the rotor is the problem
