[citation][nom]rdc85[/nom]As A former DoTA player.. (original WC ver.)I'm so glad they keep the game mechanic and the system requirement low...the one problems i had is no near server in my country, and the internet connection is quite bad...I'm wonder if this game is playable on LAN or private/local server?[/citation]

Nope, no LAN support... Back to WC3.

So why do i have 20-35 fps with AMD athlon x2 dual core 2.9 and HD 5830 4gb ram ddr2 low and high setting its the same

@digiex in the steam store what you pay for is mainly cosmetic items. If anyone wants to get free invites there are tons floating around in www.reddit.com/r/sharedota2
@rdc85 Yes I believe they added the option of running private games from your own PC without the need of servers but I haven't tried and don't know the actual conditions for that

3. When you're killed in Dota 2, you lose gold, while the enemy who killed you gets gold and experience. In LoL, the other player only gets experience; gold is not involved.

You do get gold in LOL for killing a player.

Don Woligroski, you obviously have not been playing either of these game thoroughly. There's several contradictions in your statements to what each game actually offers...

[citation][nom]CatAndSgtBaker[/nom]It's not Moba. Moba is a terrible term coined by Riot Games because they couldn't just call League of Legends a Dota-like. Multiplayer Onlina Battle Arena describes pretty much any online game out there, could just as well call Quake a Moba.[/citation]

let me know if anyone wants invites, steam id is d3s0lator ... no money or anything required just dont expect 100% guidance on my part cant promise you that ...just invites, i have 16+ at the moment :O

What were you expecting? Your graphics was NEVER intended to game on...

It's a harsh world. The truth is the truth. Sugar coating it does not make ANY different.

I know, but I feel sorry for the dude. I was about to comment äbout buying a new rig but you beat me to it.

Wrong, league of legends gives gold for hero kills, but the killed player does not lose any gold.

Furthermore, saying dota differentiates itself int he following ways is fallacious for the following reason: DotA = Dota2, and DotA came first. League of Legends differentiates itself from its predecessor, dota, not the other way around (unless we are talking about business model, of course, which is not what the gameplay section was discussing)

[citation][nom]Memnarchon[/nom]A lot of people asking for a PC able to maximize League Of Legends at 60FPS with minimum cost. Can you do the same tests you did with DOTA2 for LOL?[/citation]

It's coming soon! 😉

[citation][nom]Bombbr[/nom]Wrong, league of legends gives gold for hero kills, but the killed player does not lose any gold.[/citation]

Thanks, fixed.

I see your point but don't necessarily agree with it.

[citation][nom]Cellarian[/nom]Just being nit-picky, but Dota 2 offers only cosmetic items. So all of the items you can buy have no power at all.[/citation]

True enough. Fixed!

I would like to point out that it is possible to run a multi-monitor setup with dota without any special programs, but you do need to some custom setup.

I'm not on my home computer, so I can't check the exact method right now, but in the steam library, you can right click dota 2 to access a number of advanced settings. Under one of the tabs there is a text input for adding command-line style startup commands. by typing in "-h #, -w #" with "#" being the vertical and horizantal (respectively) resolutions you wish to have displayed, you can input a custom resolution.

Note that this preserves the FOV so you gain no tangible benefit from it, so running with three screens in portrait moode might be more attractive.

What version of Dota 2 was used for benchmarking? I ask because the April 25th, 2013 update has the patch note: "Reduced CPU usage for rendering". Maybe this update could make a significant difference, at least for low end CPU's?

Just ordered a rig with an i7 and Radeon 7770, can't wait to verify these results with my rig. It should maintain over 60fps at 1920x1080 with max settings.
