Hey folks, just wanted to ask a quick question. This will be my second time ever building a pc from scratch and I understand that most cpu fans come with thermal paste already applied but I just wanted to double check and make sure that for this Ryzen 7 series cpu that was the case.

I apologize it wouldn't let me just upload the image. I've never seen this before, is this something I peel back to reveal the paste? Or is this it

yes thats the paste pre applied should have come with a plastic cover on the bottom of the cooler that looks like you have removed for the picture ..
also may i ask what ryzen 7 are you trying to cool with that cooler ?

I apologize, I said it was a ryzen 7 series it's a ryzen 5 series, my fault. It's the ryzen 5 7600 and this picture shown above is the fan that came with it. Thank you for clearing that up and I again apologize for the miscommunication

I suggest you buy another thermal paste option. Wipe that off and use the 'other' paste. I personally like Arctic Silver, but there are loads of options. The factory installed paste from AMD performs fine but has a tendency to stick the cooler to the CPU during removal.

Just be carful using the stock cooler the 7600 non x is a alot easier to cool than the 7600x as ive used the x and a 7700 non x which is easier to cool i would look at some point upgrading to a better cpu cooler Noctua U12s or the bad boy Noctua NHu12a not cheap but very good and single tower..

Thermalright's peerless assassin 120 or the phantom spirit 120 are both dual tower designs ( that could present fitment problems ) cheap but both are amazing air coolers !!
deep cool ak500 would be another great cooler the digital a bit more expensive but offers temp read out and a little argb
ali express using pay pal for deep cool and thermalright stuff has been good for me

Ive used the Noctua NH-U12A and the deep cool ak500 digital in push pull config and im now using the Thermalright phantom spirit 120 evo on my 7800x3d and they have worked really well around the 80c allcore R23 benchmark
the stock 7600 will stay super cool with any of them towers !!

the wraith coolers are only just coolers they provide cooling but are MEH at best !!
