Double or Quadruple Memory Sale

I may be in the market for a new PC in the next few weeks. The current free
extras of a printer/camera don't do much for me. I'm interested to see if
anyone has a guess as to when the next free double or quadruple memory
upgrade may be offered in the coming weeks. Probably interested in a 8300
with at least 1 gig of RAM.

I remember seeing the quadruple memory offer at the end of February, but I'm
not aware of how often it comes around again. It appears new offers appear
each Wednesday.

Appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Phillip

Remember to check BOTH the home AND the business sites. Most simply supply
your name as the business. They offer radically different offers for
/almost/ the same thing.

Be anal: Chart out on paper the various offers: Dell excells in confusing
the bejeebers out of you. For example, the business site allows you to
chose no-monitor, and no-modem. It also is usually (if not always) free
shipping. But the home site has its own collection of bundled hoo-haa.

Here's one of the things I did: put a potential "home" configuration on to
the shopping cart. Then start over in the business section and put a
potential "business" configuration on the shopping cart. You can also save
these things away, and even switch between home and business shopping carts.

Also, and I didn't know to do this, but people here have mentioned that
signing up for their propaganda emails is likely to net you a bunch of
coupons.

hi thomas,

i do just what you do - configure machine under both home and small
business. i use excel to keep it all straight.
and yes if you sign up you will get coupons for machines, software and
peripherals, like printers, hard drives etc etc
i did this 3 years ago when i was buying my laptop. i waited for the double
ram, free shipping, 3 years of in-house for the price of 2 and a email
coupon - which was i think $100 off.

it does take patience though, but after a while, i saw a pattern almost to
the variety of offers.

and now that i am in the market for another laptop, i'll be starting the
same process again - ugh <smile>.
so from time to time, i check the site to see what the specials are.
i'm in somewhat of a rush, but something in the back of my mind keeps saying
to wait until june, why, i'm not sure, other than i really - really - really
want a 17 inch LCD panel, which they don't offer, so i may have to go with
another vendor.

jlp20,

don't worry, that sale will come around again, probably within a month from
when the previous one ended.

Something to keep in mind is that dell's offers often overlap in value. It
/almost/ doestn't matter when you buy, because they'll offer some deal on
something or other that'll make up much of the difference. Unless you are
clinically paranoid like me and want to make sure you get the very best deal
for what you want. :)

The key to this is the home vs. bus. sites.
