Question doubt acessory case hdd

I bought an aluminum case for a 2.5" HDD on AliExpress and it also came with this accessory, but I don't know what it's for, it looks like a sponge

With most external cases you have to slide the HDD into the case and onto the connector that plugs into the HDD. This requires a little extra space at the end of the case opposite the connector. After you slide the HDD in there may be some leftover space at the far end of the case. The sponge is most likely meant to fill that space so that the HDD does not slide off of the connector.

There is no manual and I don't know the correct place to stick these sponges? They have a division in the middle of the sponge and adhesive
If I stick it on the HDD, can it damage the label or stick it somewhere hot?

As said above, probably anti vibration pads.

But you are the only one with eyes on all the parts.
We out here cannot determine where they should go.

If you have a small thin ruler or even a piece of cardboard you could try this: stick whatever you have that fits into the case all the way to the far end and measure that. Then compare that measurement to the combined distance from where the case meets the black disk mounting piece to the end of the disk. If the case is deeper than the combined disk and mounting piece then you might consider putting the foam sponge on the end of the disk to fill up the space between the end of the disk and the inside end of the case.

case Product size: 12.7 * 7.5 * 1.2cm/5*2.9*0.4in
That says nothing about the interior spaces, in relation to the drive you have.
Top to bottom, front to back, side to side.

Put the drive in.
If applicable, bolt it in with whatever is provided.

Does it shake around inside?
If not, you might not need those foam spacer things.

Not sure what other answer you can get from us out here.
We have zero idea of whatever enclosure you bought.

My Seagate ST500LM030 2.5" (2.72 x 3.94 x 2.76 inches) 7mm HDD is the smallest laptop. The aluminum case has a length, width and height of 12.7 * 7.5 * 1.2cm. In this case, can I exclude the use of this sponge or will not using it cause damage to the HDD and badblocks?

I used the ruler to measure the size of the case and the measurements are correct with the product advertisement

The outside dimensions of the case are irrelevant.

You need to verify the inside space, and if the drive will rattle around inside.

If I don't use this sponge, will the HDD be damaged and have bad blocks?

I use this 2.5" Seagate ST500LM030 HDD and the case measurements are length, width, height 12.7 * 7.5 * 1.2cm

Another concern is that the PCB will touch the aluminum and cause a short circuit. I haven't assembled the case with the HDD yet because of these two doubts.
