Down with the dual core

Sorry guys, but you have failed completly to being anything close to interesting, you bored bunch of no-noobs.
multi core is by no means a technological advancemet, it is just a way of implying: "we can't anymore". the more intelligent of you may understand that. everything in this universe is single-core. it is a law of nature and technology was,is,and will be a mirror of nature. any deviation from this rule is doomed and will be washed away by the supreme intellectual entity (and that entity does have a name. no. that name is not wrong. that name is too DAMN right.). the thing to do is to have a single core and strengthen it.
now where is the joker?

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH *gasp* HAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAH....

Why do we have two arms, two legs, and two lobes of the brain? The nucleus of an atom consist of MULTIPLE protons and neutrons, which in turn consist of a variety of quarks. You are a fool to think the whole nature of the universe is 'singular'. It takes many laws of physics in order to explain the universe around us, and there can never be a unified law which would explain everything. Why do servers rely on many multi-core processors scaled up into a massive computer ? Because one processor could never handle the amount of power required in order to run a big business, and in order to get MORE processors into a 8-socket board, one way of doing this is turning single-core processors into multiple core processors, thus allowing far bigger scaling, but even then for big companies, they require a vast quantity of powerful servers in order to keep the business running. A single core could NEVER handle a large number of threads, whereas a dual/quad core could easily cope. Technologically, a single-core processor is inferior to a dual-core processor, since with a dual-core processor, you require a more complex architecture in order to function properly, and both cores must be able to communicate to each other effectively. Plus, dual-core processors are a step in the right direction for computing, and that is towards true parallel processing, something a single-core processor is incapable of providing. In this thread... you are WRONG... in a variety of ways. Come back to the forums once you've read the "Idiot's guide to Computers".

I'm not going to bash you again but think about it this way. The human DNA sequence uses a base of 4 right? And the brain is divided into TWO seperate but connected lobes right? This is so that one single lobe does not have to do all the coordination for the body. Instead why not have two that balance the load out? For the DNA, data is not just stored in one direction, it's bidirectional and is always replicated in PAIRS. And as of now we might as well have two presidents, but this isn't a political thread. Seriously, the brain is the most powerful computer out there and yet you say it is only ONE? Yes it is only one in number but it is divided in TWO just like a dual-core processor.

You're too philosophical. Laws of technology reflect laws of nature? That would have been true sometime before Jesus was born. Do you see animals evolving brains with double the power and half the size? The only laws with an influence on the laws of technology is the laws of physics. Are you saying God will destroy dual-core or something? I hope I'm misunderstanding.

Also, remember that Dothan could easily beat Prescott. If there was a Conroe single core it would destroy most other single cores today. Luckily, the people at know that two cores operating side by side are better than one.

Don't worry!! Although there are multiple beads, it is single core if you want it to be!

would this be considered "dual core" processing if one used both hands......?

I just can't help disliking the idea of dual and multi core processors. just imagine a united states of America with two presidents. come on intel/amd, there have to be better things you can do with your dies. just imagine putting a few megs of addressable memory on those cou's instead of extra cores. apps are going to fly, whether single or multi tasking.
what do you think?

Wow! This thread has made it to three pages...WTF are these forums coming to...

I sincerelly can`t believe it, a great man sais once upon a time, there`s two infinite things, the infinite itself and human stupidity... Please, when you have nothing to post, don`t post anything...

Shocked is what I am after reading that. You are retarded...cache helps, but only so many tasks can "fly" through a single core at a single moment in time.

Action_Man is right, down with stupid posts.

(and that entity does have a name. no. that name is not wrong. that name is too DAMN right.)

See he wants to send to Hell "right"

Which means he does not like right, but he likes wrong....

... So hes on the wrong side! So what happends if you drive on the wrong side of the road?....

THAT IS PROOF!!! 8O

I would love you to run 2 Programs in single core cpu. Let take a high end game and a program that That need Most of the cpu. What will happen. Fear and the program will run super slow. Why just one cpu.

Now take the Same two Programs Fear and high end program. And run it on 2 cpus. Now here what will happen Both Fear and the program will run fast due to they have there own cpu.

Intel 3.4gthz 1gb of ram. Running winamp, game and windows.

centereno duo 1.66ghz Running windows and winamp 1cpu. Game on cpu 2.

Why dose two cores beat single core. It Like asking why is two minds are better then one. Or why is four wheel drive is better then two wheel drive in offroading.

Hay Wrong You need to stay out of the stone age of computers and learn to see what happens now or in a year or so.

There will be a time where Single core cpu will be like commador 64 and apple 2 e.

The dual core processor is like engine with two cylinders.
Horrible indeed 8O
How about 4, 6, 8 and more cylinders engines?

man i think you don't like computer's that much ,why not 2 ,3 or many cores they are advanced and give more power and your example is quite stupid

I think you are another useless alter.

Dude check out the total low-rez display.

I want some 3DMark2005 and SuperPi scores for that 'beast'

This one is better, it has only one thread, perfect for single cores!
