Download Problems

Archived from groups: alt.games.the-sims (More info?)

I recently downloaded stuff clothes makeup objects etc., placed them
in the downloads folder on my game but they're not there. I've tried
putting them on again and it asks if I want to replace the files, so
they are there if somewhat hidden.

Anyone had this problem or know how to fix it.

Any help much appreciated.

Were they sims2.pack files or package files...cos if they are pack files you
need to double click them to actually install them . If you're like me
and download loads and loads but like to make a back up of them incase your
computer ever crashes, download them into a new folder in my documents. I
call mine jo's sims. I download everything into that... make a back up
whilst they are still zipped and burn to disc... then I double click the
pack files from there then cut and paste the lot... It also makes it heaps
easier if you download a lot of houses as they are all installed and
available in your games at once. I have read that a lot of people need to
install only a few at a time, in some cases one.... for them to appear in
the game... I can add 25 or 30 at once this way Hope this answers your
