My laptop, which is a Hp Pavilion g7-1017cl, had some serious software issues, so naturally I formatted. After format, neither Wifi nor Cable Internet worked, because there are no drivers. I downloaded all the necessary drivers on a flash drive, copied them into the lap, and started installing. Now everything seems to be working except for WiFi, it's install package doesn't seem to be "installing", it would say "Loading files" then I'd get the CMD opening in the taskbar for a second then disappear. I tried multiple times, tried with different version and still not working, same questionable installation process.
Note that I'm guessing it's the (Ralink 2011 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter 3.2.13.0) from the laptop's official page.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is why you can't afford to be without full system backups to an external hard drive. If the official driver from HP doesn't work, you can always buy a USB WiFi adapter and use that. They aren't expensive.

Good luck.

Yep, gonna watch out for the future. Anyways I have fully disassembled the laptop and checked the wifi adapter, and it's a completely different adapter from what's on HP's site ! I've downloaded it and WiFi perfectly working now, thanks !
