driver version mismatch with desktop manager ?

Hi, I have a quadro 2000 with driver v259.77. When I right click the desktop I get the "busy" icon for about a minute. Upgrading the driver to 306.97 solved this - and even opened explorer and browsers faster - BUT I have Avid Media composer V5 which does not support driver version > 259.77 - how do I keep the 259.77 driver but avoid the desktop manager problems ? Perhaps an older version of the desktop manager will solve the problem ? Thanks

desktop manager? is that 1 of there driver update tools? if so just dump it. more often than not they will download the incorrect versions of a driver just because it has a newer update number. better to update your drivers manually as and when you need them.

The nView desktop manager (v135.36) comes with the driver and I need it to setup my screen for multiple displays - so I prefer not to get rid of it.
