I am trying to reinstate sound on my computer running windows xp.when i boot up the computer it says new hardware found and when i proceed to the hardware wizard it says it is missing \drivers\chipset\xp. please help!

I built the computer myself, but the motherboard is an ASUS P5PL2 series with an Intel Pentium D.

have you tried downloading the latest driver from the ASUS website?

make sure you uninstall the old software first
