[SOLVED] DSL router after sometime stop ping/website not open but return to normal after a while

Hello all

I have a Zyxel dsl router.Am facing an issue where after a while the router won't ping and open any website internet will remain connected, but after a while it becomes fine.Kindly tell is it a issue with ISP or faulty hardware

I suspect a physical connectivity issue with respect to the network's components and/or physical wiring.

"Faulty hardware".

DSL uses what are referred to as splitters or filters.

Very small device with one incoming telephone wire and two out-going telephone wires. One of those two wires going to the telephone system and the second wire going to a router.

Splitters can and do fail. Inexpensive and easy to replace.

Start by swapping any RJ-11 (telephone cables) with known working cables. Next consider that there may be a problem within any wall jacks being used. Wires can and do wiggle loose. Check the wall jacks. Your ISP may provide a new splitter - ask.

Also, check the Zyxel router's logs if available and enabled. The logs may provide some insight as to what has been happening.
