Hello,
My laptop only comes with a soldered 8 GB RAM (3200MHz) stick, but it has an expansion slot. Since integrated GPUs are crippled by single-channel configurations, I was wondering if adding another stick of the same size (and frequency) would make it a dual-channel configuration. I know it depends on the motherboard, but I couldn't find any information on that anywhere.
Thanks.
The model is Asus VivoBook 14 F415EA-UB51

Always nice that different versions within the model have different amounts of free slots, some don't have them at all.

according to crucial most you could add another 8gb stick - https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/asus/vivobook-14-x405uq

if its got 8gb now and a free slot, good chance that yours is same as above.

its odd its not on the Asus website. MS site doesn't show enough info, nothing on upgrades.

If you can't find any info as to yes or no for dual channel then perhaps add another stick of ram and test.

For anyone from the future wondering, I got a second 8GB stick from Amazon for a pretty low price and CPU-Z says it's dual. Make sure the frequency matches your first stick, though.
