It's not possible. As far as I know that x99 chipset can't boot from pcie drives.
ok I see and it makes sense. But then can you please have a look to this
X10DRD-iNT motherboard provided by supermicro. It mentions 2x NVMe ports but it is not clear whether the booting from those is supported. Indeed, the chip is the C612 which should not support NVMe as far as I know. If that mobo does not support booting why calling those ports NVMe? If the board does support, what is then that make it special if not the chip?
