So I'm trying out dual monitors and with the current setup whenever I try to alt tab from any program to any other program the computer freezes and I have to reboot. According to CAM my CPU, GPU, and ram aren't even close to being under full load. I'm also experiencing major FPS loss (100+ lower than usual) in games when I have the second monitor plugged in.

Monitor 1: Asus MG248 1080p 144hz 1980x1200 with displayport cable
Monitor 2: Another asus monitor 1080p 60hz 1980x1200 with DVI cable

Specs:
GTX 980
i7 4790k
16gb 2400 ddr3 ram

Turns out the solution was absurdly simple. All I had to do was go to the windows multitasking settings and make sure all the options were set to show everything on all monitors. Alt-tabbing now causes no issues and I haven't been experiencing the fps loss in games.

EDIT: the issues are back. I have no clue what is causing them. None of the components in my system even seem to be under full load or overheating according to CAM. Haven't seem RAM use above 50% nor GPU or CPU use above 80%...
