Not Really.

I killed myself.

St_Nidalap (v 4.0), my avenger, bought it against Coldworm in NM. I'm
whacking all the eggs and and other maggots, my rogue whacking
away...poof, big cold AND fire bomb, St_Nidalap goes to join his three
predecessors.

Farthest I've made with an HC melee. Back to the drawing board.
Didn't lose _too_ much -- did have the mid-level set gloves that give
%20 IAS (from Orphan's Call).

Thing that gets me - my res's were all 70+, and my life ball was still
over 1/2 (out of 400ish).

400ish life, hc and nm, sounds like a bad combo to me.
I would try allocate some more stat points in vit. if i was you and wanted
to rebuild a melee char.
