Duron vs. P4

The best line here is "The P-IV running at 1.5GHz (1,500MHz) costs over 7½ times more than the AMD Duron, clocking in at 1.01GHz (1,008MHz)".

You can get 7 durons to one P-IV running at 1.5GHz.
ahahhahah

How can you sleep at night. Your comparing a Duron with a P4...thats like compairing a poodle and a german shepard. T-bird vs p4 is more like it. btw....T-bird wins..heh

Lets see the same comparison in a year . i think the outcome may be very different then. But then maybe not only time will tell.

Hey man i dont know .. i just think i do !!

.."You can get 7 durons to one P-IV running at 1.5GHz."
You should not compare only cpu price but whole system price, You can get only 2-3 Duron systems for the price of P4 system. That means you can buy Duron now, put the rest of the money under the pillow for a year, than upgrade the cpu to 2333 MHZ , and keep the change for year after. That way you will have fast system for long time. If you buy a P4 you will have to thrash it in a year or two together with m/b,case,power suplay and your crushed dreams (see pentium 60).

I think your post just proves his point even better, you can build 3+ whole systems for the price of one other due to the vastly more expensive chip, ram and motherboard.
