DVD playback to TV

Hi

If I have a athlon 1GHz, GeForce2 MX card with TV out and DVD drive can I play movies on my TV with appropriate cables?

Am I missing something? I assume that CPU can process the data without hardware decoder.

Will I get a decent image? (better than VCR and without flicker/stutter?)

Thanks

Just your cable for connecting to TV (will usually be SVideo, but depends on your card), and also select your output as TV. The resolution on TVs is not as good as the resolution on monitors.

If you can use S-video that will be much much better than any vcr could supply. Even if you use a composite cable (the yellow RCA) it should still be better than vcr. Good luck!
