dvd-rom support in dos

I put the proper lines (atapi.sys) in the config.sys and autoexec.bat.

No luck with that though, like it normally should. This is my first dvd-rom, is there something besides the atapi.sys that I can put into my config.sys and autoexec.bat so I can use my dvd in dos?

the dvd drive probably came with a disk. In this disk there will be a whatever.sys archive.

just add to config.sys

device=(driveletter and directory)whatever.sys /d:whatever

and add to autoexec.bat
(mscdex path)mscdex /d:whatever

SEARCH FIRST, THEN POST

I dled the proper firmware/driver files for it, the proper lines are in the autoexec.bat and config.sys. Now I don't need dvd-rom support in dos...I need it to work in general...(see my other post)
