hi, I have a 6670 that has two hdmi's and a dvi port on it that im trying to use an adapter that came with an old 8400gs from back in the day, I want this because my monitor (23" vizio tv) only has one HDMI, and im tired of unplugging my pc everytime to play 360 (the new 360 only has hdmi and some weird component thing that i cant find anywhere) I basically want to do the hdmi to tv from the 360, and vga to tv from the computer, but when i plug in the adapter to vid card it says no signal.

thanks in advance.

Is the DVI port on your graphics card DVI-I? If it is DVI-D (digital) it will not have the analog pins to go to VGA. If it is DVI-D you will need an active adapter which is a little costly. You might be better off with a HDMI switch because chances are the highest resolution you can use through the VGA port on your TV is 720p (If your TV is full HD).

do you have the right type of DVI for your GPU? as there are two different types you could have. Ideally you should use HDMI. its better but as you said that does mean dealing with unplugging the console and switching between the two
