E Gpu on my laptop

Hello Everyone. i have a old laptop, well its actually quite new but i have a new pc now. And i was wondering if it would work with an external graphics card. Though i have a good pc i thought id just be fun to try it. The laptop is a Asus X553ma 8 gigs of ram.

i was thinking that 70 dollar one that plugs into a pci port under the laptop. do i have one ?

So...$70 for this adapter, then a couple hundred for the GPU, + a PSU to run it, + a monitor.
Paired with a low end old CPU.

i have a gpu. I have a 300w psu. and i have a extra monitor sitting on my desk. So i would just need a adapter thingy.

You do but you have one of those laptops where you literally have to take apart the whole laptop to get to it. Also it should be closer $30 not 70.
