My stock E4500 (i didnt OC it) has an idle temp of
core 0 55C / 130F
core 1 52C / 125F
The cooling is pretty beefy (i'll post a pic later)
I used CPUID hardware
under load its
core 0 66C
core 1 63C

Indeed, the temps are way high. Idle should be more like 30C and load should be like 45C-50C. Make sure the heatsink is seated properly and that you have the right amount of thermal paste.

Yes, it is high. my oc q 6600 at 3.2 is idling at 31,35,39,39.

only been less than 6 months, around 5.7 months.
fans 80mm
heatsink is 45mm deep and 100mm wide and 100mm high so its 450000 cubic millimeters or 450 cubic centimemters

PS whats your room temp, my room temp is 32C

Naturally, I would conclude that your heatsink isn't on properly or there isn't enough contact with the IHS and heatsink.

32C is hot for a room...With that, idle temps should be like 38-40C and load like 60C.

The heatsink should be properly seated already.
May not be.
Concave/Convex HS coupled with a Concave/Convex IHS.
Maybe they "forgot" the thermal compound.
(brand new car - factory "forgot" lubrication in transmission - it happens)
Bad airflow in case.
Take it all apart and have a look.

BTW - if you are on AUTO vcore (cpu voltage) you can most likely lower it in Bios... You should check it either way.. Be interested to know what it's at

Bought it from HP (last computer im gonna buy) The heatsink should be properly seated already.

Well, if its HP then it will have the standard CPU cooler and the lowest ammount of case airflow they could get away with.

I have not yet found a major supplier that has had low temps for the CPU, its just not worth the extra outlay for them.
