If I can swing the sword, maybe combo based awesome hack'n'slash I will be down. I was soooooo bored in the first 15 mins of the first I cried. I wanted so badly for it to be as good as it looked. I mean if it even had baldurs gate style fighting it would fly for me.... oh well guess I'll have to wait for the next big action rpg set in a similarly awesome style of universe......

[citation][nom]steiner666[/nom]Am I the only person who feels VERY ripped off that they're not continuing the story from the first? [/citation]

Nope. Your not alone. This is pretty much what they did with ME2. You build a character in and a team in ME1, make "consequential" decisions. Then they kill your character off in a cut scene right at the beginning and force you to start over building a new team, etc. (I really liked ME2 but all the hype about continuing with your character and your decisions having consequences was just that, hype.)

EXACTLY! Make a new RPG if you want to experiment. Leave Dragon Age alone, it was fine. "Don't fix it if it ain't broken" I can't believe that all our choices and customizations in DAO have no significance!!! This is just crap! If I wanted to play like Shepard I'd buy ME, but I don't so that's what Dragon Age is for.

[citation][nom]smile9999[/nom]the same things as the last game but a diffrent story, how original, I am honestly sick with the all their games rounding on about gathering allies, there were nothing to explore on the first game, the map was locked and there were not much places to go nor dungeons even the amount of different sets and gear was minimal.plz change up your ideas bioware.[/citation]
Well said.

[citation][nom]bourgeoisdude[/nom]Actually the Xbox 360's GPU is arguably superior to the PS3. It's the 7-core Cell processor on the PS3 that allows it to keep up, and in many cases surpass the 360. It's all in how the game is developed. For this one, since all three platforms are involved, it's likely developed for the PC primarily, which is easier to port to the 360 than the PS3. For this particular game, most likely it's the PS3 that will be "scaled back" more than the 360.[/citation]

Maybe I read the OP wrong. Cause I assumed they were talking about scaling back when compared to the PC. Which would make sense, since this is Tom's Hardware (which used to be a PC site).

All the comments in this forum I agree on. Nobodies (useless beggars) rise to a special occasion to rid the world of evil and be crowned a mighty hero (Oblivion remember?). DAO is unique in a way it tried something new and it worked, very well for RPG fans I might add. The expansion for me seemed rushed and short. New skills and story line was well off for me because it blends in well with the original game, everything else seemed unrefined. But overall still a good game excluding hype.

My actual concern is that Electronic Arts is rushing this project like all other projects to sell more games per annum. Example: C&C3 Tiberium War was a good game, shortly afterwards the expansion came out and it wasn't so good, C&C4 came shortly after and SO MANY things changed that it made a successfull franshise into a blundering disaster. NFS? also a view examples could be used.

My main concern is that this sequel will not be refined and beta tested to receive feedback and to edit variables as necessary. It will be rushed and another poor game is made to dissapoint.

What do you think?

hope they make it more interesting. When aoe snare + aoe + aoe + aoe wins every single combat they throw at you, it gets pretty old pretty fast.

The game was not so exciting at first, but it did get way more interesting over time. My gripes, which I hope they will improve upon are 1) Make the warrior class have way more active skills to choose from, there was way too little variety, and for once I thought I would have a reason to try a warrior character. 2) If they can improve their proficiency and speed of building character models with their engine, maybe there will be more variety in the characters' visuals. Too many male characters reminded of Alistair (the hair, mainly) and every bearded dwarf seemed to have the exact same beard. 3) I would like to have the ability to have a dual class character. Since I only had the choice of lock-picking with a rogue, that meant Leiliana was guaranteed a spot in my party during nearly the whole game. Not that she was a problem, she was great, but the class builds severely limited gameplay variety. I'm not a hardcore player, and I only played through once so far (took 6 months), but I think I brought up points that were fairly accurate.
