EA doing a mmog that is a disaster waiting to happen they have a very poor record of dropping any online game at the drop of a hat.
Name one mmog that EA has running and is popular , i rest my case.

Everyone who preorders will play at launch as long as you live in the US or Europe... limited release means if you didnt preorder there is a chance you wont get to play when it comes out

[citation][nom]ReggieRay[/nom]Bioware use to be the shit, now they are just a trick (prostitute) for EA. EA's whore.[/citation]

That might be true, but it is we the customers who are willingly bending over and taking it up the arse!

But, but... if they do a scaled launch then we might not get to experience the day one server crashes and lag we've all grown to expect with any MMO release. That's crazy talk.

And about the economics of MMO pricing, it's all about supply and demand and the buyer's perception of value. For the amount of enjoyment I get out of MMO's, a $60 initial investment and $15 a month there after is a bargin compared to satellite/cable TV, going to the movies, sporting events, etc. I honestly can't think of anything else that can give me nearly as many hours of entertainment per dollar spent as an MMO. To me, it is an excellent value.

[citation][nom]gnookergi[/nom]You're an idiot. This isn't about subscription fees, it's about the fact that publishers are charging $60 for a game that should only be $40-50. Economically challenged? No. Smart and understanding of the value of money? Yes.It's fools, such as yourself, who bend to the will of these companies that allows them to charge such outrageous prices. I bet if they increased it to $70 (or even $80) for the base game, that you'd still pay it. Guess what? Now they have reason to believe you'll pay the same price for EVERY other game they release thereafter.[/citation]

Wow, talk about cheap. Lets see I can pay $60 for a game I will put easily 120 hours into or I could spend $12 to go see a 2 hour movie, how about $75 to go to a sporting event? Guess what, games cost $60 now, deal with it. If you don't feel like you are getting the value out of it then don't buy it, we could care less. Don't tell people how to spend their money, video games at $60 are the best dollar value for entertainment on the planet, so the only way someone would complain is if they are too poor to afford it. Sorry, sucks to be you. I will gladly pay $100 a game, that costs me as much as a round of golf and provides me 8x the entertainment value.

[citation][nom]Trialsking[/nom]I think you and I are the only sane people left. Humanity is doomed with all these morons who $150.00 for a game, and then will be pay ~$15 a month on top of that. God bless Steam summer/xmas sales![/citation]
I haven't paid full price for a game ever since I started using steam. I won't look at any titles over 30$, because, eventually, they all get to that price and my backlog of games I haven't played yet thanks to two steam summer sales is so large I can afford to wait.

I'm kind of interested in SW:TOR, but the previews I'm seeing of it make me think it's just WoW gameplay with a SW skin and Bioware dialog which makes me sad. However, no matter my interest, I'm definitely not paying full price on an MMO when I know it will drop in price to something more reasonable after 6 months to a year.

Sweet, sweet normies. I will be sipping on my appletini in my C.E. V.I.P. lounge being served by a beautiful waitress soaking in a hot spa. ;p

(Not to be spiteful, huge Star Wars/BioWare fan)

See you all at launch!
