[citation][nom]JPHD[/nomGears of War on the pc (too many bugs) killed pc gaming for me. that is... until SC 2 came out.[/citation]

Thats because Gears of War sux on PC or Console!

I hope my 3x200mm and 3x120mm fans are enough to cool my system down?!?!?!?

So SC2 is buggy. That's reality folks. It is especially unfortunate when its 11 years in the pipeline but when several million people get the game in the span of days a lot of bugs and faults will show themselves.

man this is why I like blizzard, they already announced a patch to implement chatrooms and they admit bugs and post workarounds so you don't have to dig through forums to find a solution.

[citation][nom]HTDuro[/nom]hmmm dude lol alot of ppl play on home LCD TV now , and ppl have home theater audio plugged to it .. you see more of those setup right now. but directly on pc .... if you got a dedicated room for pc like me, you will have a 7.1 trust me[/citation]
I have a room but no 7.1. I still use a $200 pair of Monsoon Flat panel with a subwoofer, 2.1 great sounding speakers too bad they are out of buisness. Use a 24" Samsung 1920 x 1200 monitor.
Have given it thought before but setup would suck, wires and all.

Blahhh haaa, beta testers. Will be waiting for the Battlechest Edition when I can get all three parts for this no LAN support milk machine of $63.55 (tax) a pop of 3 installment game and the patches are written. For you na sayers, I bet Activision sets the next two releases at the kiddie console price of $59.95
Since the original does not play properly on my Windows 7 gaming rig, video issues My Minimac OS X runs it just fine, go figure.
Fallout 3 New Vegas is what I am waiting for.

Sounds like a bad console port that has no console version
[citation][nom]compprob237[/nom]...Some companies just CAN'T test for every single hardware configuration. Hence why they release patches/fixes later on. Think of it like this: if they're releasing patches/fixes at least they're trying to fix the problems. (eyes a certain company that starts with an A that decided to fix the problem only after people started complaining)...[/citation]
You can say it, Activision Blizzard SUX and that why we are complaining.

[citation][nom]Ragnar-Kon[/nom]HaHahahahaha.... classic. How the two are even related boggles my mind.[/citation]
[citation][nom]cybot_x1024[/nom]hahahaha! after bending over backwards and paying for the system with a kidney and half your liver, you are faced by such an issue![/citation]
Really? You two computer enthusiast have no idea why CPU and USB are related?

[citation][nom]joytech22[/nom]Fail on blizzards behalf, 11 years to work on a game and it's buggier than Crysis was when released, I think..Except it's the opposite, instead of requiring a massive system, SC2 negatively affects high-end systems![/citation]

Buggy how, ive been playing it for last 3 days with all settings maxed out. And i have not run into a single problem yet, runs smooth/fast. Has not froze or crashed on me once, no graphical problems. 0 problems, works just fine and i love the game. my only problem is that you cant change your profile name, and thats a very tiny problem.

and my system that im using to run starcraft 2:
i7 870
Sapphire 5870 toxic
8gb DDR3 Kingston Hyper-X
Creative Fatality X-Fi platinum
74gb Raptor
22 inch viewsonic Lcd monitor
Asus Maximus III forumla

I played the game on Ultra with a res of 1920x1080 all the way through with a computer almost 3 years old and had no problems at all. The only thing I noticed was on a level near the end when you are battling Zerg units with Protoss there was some lag due to 400 plus units being in the same section of the map.

[citation][nom]devorakman112[/nom]the overheating issue is no joke, i beta tested the game since day one, and on my exceptionally dated geforece 5500fx, it ran decently on minimum settings, but temps did go up a bit (not unexpected)many, many people complained of video cards actually becoming damaged from this problem. i cannot believe blizzard didnt install some kind of auto cap on menu screens, this problem should have been forseen.[/citation]
There is an autocap on the frame rate of the menu screen now. Many other games have the same problem. It always annoys me.

How is this even happening? I thought with ALLL THE POWERFUL video cards people use, they would keep vertical sync enabled? Anyone with half a brain knows what that will do with an LCD screen.

[citation][nom]mpavao81[/nom]Buggy how, ive been playing it for last 3 days with all settings maxed out. And i have not run into a single problem yet, runs smooth/fast. [citation][nom]nukemaster[/nom]compprob237, So your saying having issues with Realtek cards(not hear in game voice?) that are in 90+% of Windows 7 system is not a big issue. I am sure this should have been caught in the Betas.[/citation]
I said minor. That does not break the game or cause damage to the OS/Game files nor damage to hardware.

Minor was meant to sound like it would be simple to fix (as far as I know). The windows 7 Sound issues have been MAINLY due to the driver makers lately. I have a creative x-fi and boy do I have issues with a lot of other games.

Besides, No voice chat in SC2 isn't really a big problem. Learn to type faster.

Besides this, I've been playing on a fairly wide variety of systems and haven't seen issues myself.

System 1: Core i7 920, 2x 7800 GTX, 6gb Ram, Asus P6T, Creative X-FI XtremeMusic used for all sound, Windows 7 Professional (x64)
System 2: Core i7 920, 2x GTX 260, 12gb Ram, Asus P6T Deluxe, Realtek Onboard sound used, Logitech USB Headset for voice chat, Windows 7 Ultimate (x64)
System 3: Core i7 860, HD 5850, 4GB ram, Asus P7P55D, Onboard Realtek used for all sound (haven't tested voice chat), Windows 7 Home Premium (x64)
System 4: Core 2 Duo E6600, 7950 GX2, 4GB ram, Asus P5B Deluxe, Creative X-FI XtremeMusic used for sound and Voice chat (no problems), Windows 7 Home Premium (x64)
System 4: AMD Sempron SI-42 (2.10GHz), ATI 3100 Graphics, 2GB ram, Onboard Sound used (unsure brand, voice chat not tested), Toshiba L455D, Windows 7 Home Premium (x86)
System 5: Pentium 4 2.4ghz (800mhz FSB Northwood), 6600GT, 2GB Ram, Onboard Realtek used for sound output, Logitech USB Headset used for voice, Asus P4P800-E Deluxe, Windows XP SP3 (x86)

All of these systems have had no issues at all.

Sorry for double post, but had to add this: I do find it odd that the menu screens and other areas of the game are not frame-rate locked at a set FPS (30 FPS is VERY common for menu screens), but at least they knew to have some way of locking the frame reate besides V-Sync.

hahaha marcus is still stuck playing THE BETA. so who did jane give her two free trial invites to marcus?!
also do not write articles about a BETA AFTER the offcial release, no one cares about the beta any more, we already know it's going to be buggy IT'S A BETA VERSION.

is this your plot to seek revenge on jane for not sending you a free trial invite? write about a horrible starcraft2 BETA VERSION write up, so the crowd gasps and jane is forced to do a good write up on the official release on opening week? good luck with that, if janes any kind of hardcore gammer she'll just ignore everything and keep right on playing..maybe even calling in sick the next two days as well.

it's a fun game, official release and i'm not having any issues listed.

[citation][nom]mlopinto2k1[/nom]3 days huh?[/citation]
Thursday,Friday,Saturday, and now today, so actually i have had the game for 4 days, and i dont mean 3 days non stop, you know what i meant.

That was my first thought too. Enable VSync and all is well.

Personally I like to have my GPU not run at 100% for no reason.

It's not blizzard fault your systems overheated it is your own. Take it as a lesson learned, and next time stress test your system. If people would've done that properly they wouldn't be having these issues now.

I'm not calling anybody stupid, I completely understand that some people just don't know this. But to not learn for your mistakes, and refusel to learn *aka blaming others* does make you an idiot.

Too bad most of the people reading this article already have more than adequate cooling in their home built PC, but maybe I should speak for myself.
I don't mind the fact my computer sounds like a jet engine when it starts up. Fast parts can get hot, especially when you overclock it.
I rather be safe than sorry =)

Thanks Antec 900
