BTW these cards are not running in SLI as first the Motherboard is AMD chipset which means crossfire, and 2nd GX2s dont have 2 sli slots but only 1 meaning only 2 of these can be paired in so called quad sli.

This machine will be used mostly for computational tasks and in games you can use only 1 of the 8 cards (what a waste )

Anyway it should be some MONSTER computational machine

Did you even click on the link? The pic inside shows 2 cases tied together and (2) motherboards. It doesn't need to be in crossfire, this was done previously with 4 GPUs a few months ago. This is 8 this time. i Can't find the thread but it was for medical use.

It is called Cluster or Nodes. Ethernet, Fiber Optics and there are some other ways.
Or did you think that server farms had a massive board with 1024 CPU slots ?
Would be fun sure, but a real pain to change that mobo.
