Alright I have only the very basic grasp of the internal hardware of computers - when it comes to compatibility of individual parts I am toast.
I would like to buy the Elgato HD60 to record gameplay from my PS4, but minimal requirements of the capture cards say you need atleast "2nd generation Intel Core i5 CPU" with 2 Ghz or higher core performance.
My problem is I don't know if this means that it ONLY works with Intel CPUs or if they use this CPU as an example (like let's say with video game requirements) for what kind of performance your processor needs to handle the recording.
I don't have an Intel processor and even if the i5 CPU was just used as an example, I still have no idea if my processor is powerful enough to handle the recording process (as I said - I have very little understanding of the actual hardware compatibility)
My PC isn't the most powerful one, but remains decent and I would like to know if I can succesfully record the gameplay from my PS4.
And if not and if it wasn't too much to ask, I would like to know if there is any substitude CPU I could upgrade to instead of my current one - my motherboard is not the youngest so checking google for compatible CPUs yielded no results.
My PC:
Motherboard: ACPI/ATK0110
operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit
processor: AMD Athlon II X3 440
graphics card: AMD Radeon™ HD 7770 GHz Edition
RAM: 8GB
I realize my rig probably isn't the best one to upgrade further given my old motherboard, but building a new one, although I am saving for it, is still unreachable goal for the moment.
Thank you in advance for your help
